Nusa Penida snorkeling spots
Before being famous for land tourism as it is today, 3 years earlier,
Nusa Penida Tour was already known as seawater tourism,
namely diving and snorkeling nusa penida manta bay.
My friend who works in Nusa Dua Water Sports, almost every day takes tourists to Nusa Penida using a boat charter.
The places visited were Crystal Bay, Manta Point, and Pulau Sepatu (Atuh Beach).
But they are only in the water and never land on the beach because the waves of the sea do not allow the boat to land.
Even before the existence of land tour operators that mushroomed recently, long before that there were companies that served diving and snorkeling.
As the biggest guest supplier is the Quicksilver boat, which owns its own pontoon in the waters of Toya Pakeh.
Local residents have the fortune of serving Quicksilver boat customers who want to snorkel.
Now we sort the eight snorkeling spots in Nusa Penida.
1. Manta Bay
Located in a broken beach area, a sea area surrounded by towering giant corals.
Sometimes the seawater is calm and looks beautiful small fish, sometimes big waves are fierce and creepy.
The name manta bay is taken because of the many manta rays that are there, not always there but very often there.
It is recommended to come there from March to July.
Because besides the seawater tends to be calmer in that month, the possibility of seeing manta rays is greater.
Some tour operators create a “hello Manta” program,
a snorkeling program to swim with manta rays.
Hope you are lucky to meet and swim with the manta ray.
Manta rays are different from stingrays,
they are friendly fish and do not contain poison in their tails,
so don’t worry about being near them.
2. Crystal Bay
The name Crystal Bay is taken by tourists because of its clear,
crystal clear seawater.
It is located in the waters of Crystal Beach or Penida Beach.
One of my guests who had dived there said it was like diving in an aquarium.
In Crystal Bay,
there is also a small island in the middle of the sea
called “Batu Mejineng” on which there is a Hindu holy place.
So if people pray there they have to cross by boat.
Near the island area, there are also diving spots to see sunfish.
Come in July, wish you luck.
The attraction of snorkeling in Crystal Bay is the coral reefs and thousands of small colorful fish accompany you while diving there.
What is less interesting there is the number of boats parked there, making the situation look congested and jammed.
3. Gamat Bay
Moving north from Crystal Bay for about 10 minutes it will be at Gamat Bay.
The waters that are still beautiful with unspoiled beaches are great for diving here.
The scenery here is almost the same as Crystal Bay, coral reefs, and small fish.
Don’t miss this place, you won’t regret it.
4. Buddha Temple
It is located near Ceningan Island, a site created by a local company to develop snorkeling tours in Nusa Penida.
Many Buda statues were lowered in shallow water, thus forming a beautiful sight.
This place is also a must-visit spot for tourists visiting Nusa Penida via snorkeling because it is also a good place for underwater photos.
The issue recently that developed this site is no longer there.
because reportedly the company that made it has taken back the statues that were there.
To the east of Lembongan Island, there are tens of hectares of mangrove forests.
To withstand abrasion, the extensive and beautiful mangrove debt is now developing into a tourist area.
Tourists who come there, some just walk along the mangrove forest, escorted by small boats from local residents.
There are also those who do snorkeling tours to see the amazing underwater panorama.
Visiting here is very shady because there are thousands of mangrove trees that supply oxygen to you.
6. Wall Bay.
For the inexperienced, this place is very good.
Shallow waters so that from the top of the boat we can see coral reefs and fish below.
Try splashing, feel the sensation of the shallow and calm water.
7. Jetty Point
The scenery in this place is an underwater cliff overgrown with corals and fish that live there.
The place is close to Wall Bay, about 10 minutes from Tōya Pakeh Traditional Harbor.
8. Manta Point
In contrast to manta Bay, Nusa Penida manta points are located south of the Nusa Penida Island.
Precisely in the area of Peguyangan waterfall.
This place is like the home of manta rays because there are almost always manta rays here all year round.
Actually this is a diving spot, but there are some tourists who are already curious about not finding a manta ray in Manta Bay, they ask to go to the manta point.
This place is not a regular snorkeling route, you have to pay more if you want to go to this place.
There are some snorkeling spots in Nusa Penida, hopefully, they can be a reference for which places you don’t want to miss during your tour in Nusa Penida.
